These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the travel planning service operated by Travl ("we", "our", or "us") available at routebook.app(the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. Account registration and security
You may sign in using a magic link sent to your email address or via a supported OAuth provider (currently Google). You are responsible for:
- keeping your account credentials and active sessions secure;
- all activity that occurs under your account; and
- notifying us immediately at legal@routebook.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that show signs of compromise or abuse.
3. Description of the Service
Travl is a collaborative travel-planning tool that lets you create and share itineraries, add destinations and stops, attach lodging and transit information, and invite travel companions to collaborate in real time. The Service also surfaces AI-generated city-guide suggestions (see Section 7).
4. User content
4.1 Your ownership
You retain all intellectual property rights in the content you create using the Service ("User Content"), including trip itineraries, comments, and uploaded images.
4.2 Licence to us
You grant Travl a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We do not use your trip data to train AI models.
4.3 Shared trips
When you share a trip with collaborators, those collaborators may view and edit the trip according to the permissions you assign. You are responsible for choosing whom you share with.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party;
- upload or transmit malicious code, spam, or phishing content;
- harass, threaten, or abuse other users;
- attempt to circumvent any technical protection, rate limit, or access control;
- scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service without our written consent; or
- impersonate another person or entity.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules without prior notice. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent termination.
6. Prohibited content
You must not upload or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or that facilitates illegal activity, including but not limited to human trafficking, drug trafficking, or terrorist activity.
7. AI-generated content
Certain features of the Service (including city-guide suggestions) are powered by third-party large language model providers. AI-generated content is clearly labelled within the interface. You acknowledge that:
- AI suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated;
- AI suggestions must not be relied upon for safety-critical, legal, medical, or financial decisions; and
- Travl is not responsible for any loss or harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content.
8. Billing and subscriptions
Certain features may require a paid subscription. Prices, billing cycles, and included features are described on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from Account settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and AI-generated outputs (other than User Content), is owned by or licensed to Travl and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
10. Availability and modifications
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where reasonably practicable we will give advance notice of significant changes.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TRAVL AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) €100.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER DUTCH LAW.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Travl and its personnel from any claims, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your User Content, or your use of the Service in a manner that infringes the rights of a third party.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account settings. Upon deletion your personal data will be erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid subscription fees on a pro-rata basis.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active users by email at least 14 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
